Bake Sale Coordinator will organize the donations the week before the event into bags/trays and complete pricing and signage. On September 7th will set up the bake sale table and stay for part of the fair. There will be other volunteers to do shifts from 11am to 5pm. This opportunity works well for a single volunteer or a family.
Weed gardens, tend plants, harvest weekly for food bank. This is a team effort with existing volunteers. Looking for people who can manage one day a week.
- Possess a valid Ontario Driver’s licence and a safe driving record.

Has access to a safe and appropriate vehicle, which is adequately insured with a minimum of 1 million dollars of liability.

Has the physical ability to carry meal bags.

Pick up route list and meals from the office location (Georgetown or Acton).

Using your own vehicle, deliver meals to each client on the route sheet.

Uses sanitization practices such as recommended hand washing and food serving guidelines.

On completion of meal delivery, returns list and meal bags to office.

Reports any unusual client conditions and concerns to Coordinator.

Maintains calmness in emergencies, with an ability to assist in a crisis.

Participates in annual volunteer survey.

Interact professionally in accordance with Links2Care Code of Conduct and Human Rights Act.

Maintain complete confidentiality of client information in accordance with Links2Care confidentiality/privacy policy.

Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

- Pick up groceries from grocery stores and complete the delivery from the list provided by the coordinator.

Communicates with the coordinator about any substitutions that need to be made.

Delivers the groceries to the client’s door.

Maintains communication with the coordinator in the event of any schedule changes.

Completes and submits a monthly volunteer time record.

Maintains calmness in emergencies, with an ability to assist in a crisis.
- Be physically able to lift heavy items such as cases of water, bags of potatoes, and carry shopping bags. Physically able to stand and/or walk for one to two hours at a time.

Neighbourhood Care Network (ongoing, work with individuals or families to identify and access needed resources).*
Grocery Delivery Program (weekly on Wednesday mornings, to an Oakville Halton Community Housing neighbourhood).*
Community BBQ program (Summer only, weekly on Thursday afternoons, at Oakville Halton Community Housing neighbourhood).
Dinner at your Door (Thursday mid day - year round delivering hot prepared meals to home-bound local persons).*
Lyon’s Lane vegetable garden plot (Spring and summer Tuesday mornings - growing and harvesting produce for donation to local food outreach programs).
St. Simon’s and St. Jude’s Pantry program (monthly, prepare and package 60 - 75 individual meals for local meal outreach programs).

We are currently seeking volunteers to help support our upcoming Kidney Walk on Sunday, September 24th 2023. Volunteer postions will include the following - event day set up, registration, walk route support, hydration station, parking asssistant, event break down and clean up.
