Description (Service)	Involved in community service, with particular emphasis on events and programs for children and youth Annual events: Christmas tree sales Youth Appreciation Week Annual essay writing and oratorical contests Respect for First Responders Awards Annual bursaries for graduating high school students Projects funded: Don MacDonald Bursary and graduation awards to Oakville high school students Junior Optimist Club for high school students Central Ontario Leadership Seminar for one Grade 10 student from each Oakville secondary school Scholarships via essay and oratorical contests Youth Appreciation Awards to Oakville high schools Assistance to attend school sponsored seminars Sponsorship of Army, Air and Sea Cadets Sponsorship of local sports teams Contribute $70,000 a year to Oakville Child & Youth Agencies and Programs. New members always welcome
