Description (Service)	Independent tribunal hears appeals concerning property tax assessments and some property tax appeals in Ontario makes decisions based on the *Assessment Act* and municipal legislation (the Municipal Act and the *City of Toronto* *Act*) people may present their own case, retain a lawyer, or have an agent such as a friend or relative act on their behalf

Application	If the property (or part of it) is classified as residential, farm, managed forest or conservation land, before applying to the Assessment Review Board (ARB) people must: file a Request for Reconsideration (RFR) with the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) - call 1-866-296-3722 or visit https://www.mpac.ca receive the RFR decision BEFORE filing an appeal with the ARB file appeal with ARB before deadline, which is 90 days from the mailing date on the RFR decision; forms available on ARB Website
