Public Comments As of September 30, 2018, the Canadian Benefit for Parents of Young Victims of Crime becomes effective, replacing the former Parents of Murdered or Missing Children (PMMC) grant to make it more inclusive and flexible. Note that applications for incidents that occurred before September 30, 2018 will continue to be assessed under the eligibility criteria of the PMMC grant.

Description (Service)

Grant providing assistance to eligible parents who suffer a loss of income taking time away from work

  • payments are $500 a week, before tax, paid bi-weekly for up to 35 weeks over a period of three years immediately following the incident
Hours Mon-Fri 8 am-5 pm

Eligibility Individuals who meet both the applicant and incident eligibility criteria
