Objectives are to:

  • ensure that the spirit of the Niagara Escarpment's UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve designation is upheld  
  • protect and enhance local Niagara Escarpment rural lands in North Burlington by preserving vital ecosystems and natural habitats  
  • protect endangered and threatened animal and plant species  
  • safeguard rural water tables, wells, creeks and wetlands  
  • preserve and enhance quality of life of the Niagara Escarpment area
