Description (Service)

Members include gardeners living in the Halton-Hamilton area who have diverse horticultural backgrounds and a desire to share their passion for gardening 
 
Volunteer at:

  • local garden tours and shows to answer gardening questions
  • Royal Botanical Gardens festivals
  • special community garden projects
  • Canada Blooms (answering gardening questions and as guest speakers and expert panelists)
  • members also speak on garden topics (e.g., at Horticultural Societies and libraries)

Eligibility
  • To join and become a Master Gardener in Training (MGiT), applicants must pass a short written eligibility test
  • MGiTs are required to either take specified courses or pass a certification exam, usually within three years, in order to become Master Gardeners
  • MGiTs are responsible for the costs of courses and the exam
